Who doesn’t like great grilled cheese? Ms Cheezious has been creating delicious grilled cheeses for a while as a food truck and now recently, they’ve opened up a brick and mortar in the MiMo area of the city. The space is cool and has an incredible backyard area and space for great entertainment and food. If you get the chance to visit, try their amazing Caprese Melt. Warm, savory and buttery delicious!
Jimmy’z Kitchen really has a great concept and simple idea. Good food, exceptional taste and great laid-back atmosphere. My favorite dish is the Seared Ahi Tuna with jasmine rice, avocado and tomato salad. The soy ginger dipping sauce is tangy and pairs great with the dish. They also have a great choice of beers and wine. The guava cheesecake is outstanding.
An evening full of surprises is what Ted’s at YoungArts is all about. You get a unique ambiance that touches all your senses. From the brilliant video walls that surround you to the eclectic vibe that captivates you, is just the start. The menu is simple and easy to digest. I tried the Lamb Kofta with wasabi tzatzik over spaghetti squash. The portion was perfect and the presentation was appealing. Great desserts and wonderful drinks. By the way, they are located in one of my favorite architectural gems. The old Bacardi building.
My newest adventure in dining has been La Savina restaurant at the Mondrian South Beach. With it’s unique lobby with its interesting black staircase makes your experience an Alice in Wonderland trip. The La Savina restaurant is design just as amazing. From the gorgeous Eames Dowel-Leg chairs to the great Biscayne Bay views is enough to make you feel excited about dinner or breakfast. The Crudo’s on their menu are truly fresh and delicious. I recommend to try them all. The Tuna is extremely fresh and beautiful in color. It’s made with romesco and cilantro to really bring out the flavor. The dining experience and the service was excellent!
For all of those who like the concept of Healthy Regional Cuisine, here is the perfect spot on the beach. Oolite Restaurant is the a place where you can enjoy an array of berry muffins, biscuits, banana bread, coffee cakes and more, all very delicious and surprisingly Gluten Free. The atmosphere is chic and open design. The service is with no attitude even though it’s South Beach. They have local entertainment that will make your brunch special. Check them out for dinner, lunch or brunch and ask what the name Oolite is all about.
These days every restaurant has crab cakes on their menu. But once you find a good one you’ll remember it. This delicious starter will surely be a start to a great dinner. With apple slaw, Prosecco vinaigrette and remoulade is wonderful. The restaurant has great seating for big groups and the space is comfortable. The service was very personal and it felt good for a change. Don’t forget to try the Lobster Mac & Cheese! Pilar Local Restaurant and Bar is located in Aventura.
After enjoying an amazing burger at LoKal Restaurant in Coconut Grove there is nothing better than to have their Tres Leche dessert. The 3 types of milk are served with an amazing cake topped with fresh berries and bananas. On top of the fruit there is a milk marinade, caramel and fresh whipped cream. They also have great beers to go with your whole dining experience.
Frida’s Secret is this amazing dessert at Loba Restaurant in MiMo. The dessert has so many wonderful layers of flavors and textures. It’s a Mexican chocolate brownie, azucar! sweet corn ice cream, chocolate corn flakes. It’s a bit spicy, but perfect with the rest of the flavors combined. So now that you know the secret, come in and try it!
A new restaurant in the MiMo district opened up and I’m already loving it. It’s called Loba Restaurant and it’s quite the spot. I tried their Market Whole Fish from their menu (pictured here). It has sorrel, arugula, orange, fennel, micro greens, pink guava and lemon. The bits of the pink guava on the fish is pretty amazing and tasty. The other offerings are just as delicious and well prepared. The interior space is comfortable and quaint and has a unique modern design with natural elements. Swing by when you are driving down the boulevard. You might just get a craving to come back.
This burger was first introduced at the Eating House during Hamburger Month. They only would make 24 burgers every Wednesday during that month and that was it. Now you can catch it again on their new lunch menu. Black Angus patty topped with Applewood smoked bacon, fontina cheese, black truffle, egg and Parmigiano. So stop by and come hungry and enjoy one of these really good and satisfying burgers.
